Location: Portland, OR
So we had a very good dinner at Obi, a Japanese restaurant north of Burnside, in Old Town. Before that we went to the library to check for our Seattle B&B confirmation, and just to use the internet etc. There was a guy looking at porn. In the library.
After dinner (shared chicken teriyaki and vegetable tempura, and cucumber salad--nice not to have tax on dinner BTW), we went to Borders, where we looked at some books, made fun of fluff internet books etc. Then headed back to the hotel, where we decided we wanted some ice cream so I walked back to Borders and bought some Heath Klondike bars.
There is some stupid party in the hotel tonight and when we got into the elevator all these pompous jackass late-twenty-somethings crowded in after us. They were headed to a party in the hotel--a swanky party, apparently, considering that they were wearing tuxedos and carrying gifts. They kept making dumb jokes, and then there were these 2 old people who were laughing at the jokes, because I guess they wanted to seem cool and hip.
Now we are in the room--watched Touched by an Angel (no, we don't usually watch this, but the TV in the hotel is totally crap) which was lame but weird because it was set in Oregon and there was a Mt Hood shoutout. It was silly--there was some "high-tech" computer stuff about making parameters to a subroutine more generic or some shit like that. What that has to do w/ the efficiency of a search engine, I have no idea.
Now watching Mission Impossible. Good.
