Location: Petaluma, CA
We are back home now. But in the last two days in Victoria, we did the following:
We had a great breakfast both days. Abigail's (our hotel) is known for its breakfasts. On the first day (11/20) we had a little pitcher of cream; but we didn't have any coffee to put it in, and Mena didn't want to waste it. So she put cream in with her little glass of fruit and mixed it around; then she put cream in with her orange juice. And then she didn't really want to drink it anymore. On the second day (11/21) they didn't give us any cream. :)
On 11/20 we drove downtown and walked around. We went to the BC Museum, which was very cool, and watched the Journey Into Amazing Caves IMAX feature. We walked by Parliament, went to Lush, Chapters, and a tartan store with a little stuffed Westie toy. Ate dinner at Camille's.
On 11/21 we took the ferry back to Port Angeles, WA; we had to go through customs, which was fun. Mena was like a little police officer--she wanted to be a customs official herself. The car in front of us had this weird yellow thing underneath it, and she kept trying to look under it to see what was there.
After arriving in Port Angeles we drove down the east side of the Olympic Peninsula in the rain (not fun), then made it all the way to Eugene, OR before we were too tired to continue. On the way we played the "Who Am I?" game. I went first; my person was Harry Shearer, which Mena answered correctly, but then said was too hard because she was using the Simpsons connection. So she responded by doing an object, which is like impossible to guess. And I couldn't get it. Finally she gave me the answer: Todd Flanders' "Butthole Surfers" shirt. Which isn't perhaps as impossible as it sounds, because this is one of our favorite Simpsons jokes. But still.
The next day (11/22) we drove the 10 hours to Petaluma.
And now we are back.
