? Is there any connection between Carl and Walter Miller?

Who knows for sure? There is, however, quite convincing evidence. These "coincidences" are open to interpretation.

Walter:"Some ofthe dogs are named Nemo... (Nemo and DriveBy are 60% furless).... Nemos very sloborry with rotten teeth, runny nose & eyes--even the other dogs find him disgusting. Hes the olny dog with his own bowl the others wont eat near him or even let him sniff there butts." One of Carl's aliases in his Suck writing was Nemo.
Another Suck mention: "Granfather realy enjoyd the Wired article about the Suck guys. In fact at the begining of the peice when Josh is driving Carl and Joey to Santa Cruze California becuase they shot The Lost Boys there the old basterd recounted a story to me that i tryed very hard to repress from my memmorey but alas he made me recall it."
Carl is writing a book... he "started a sabbatical in August and began working on a novel that, naturally, exists solely on the Web." (from Wired, November 1996) ... as is Walter: "I want to escape this trailor, get a girlfrend, & especialy get another career where I can relize my dream of bein the writer of books which define my Generation."
In his Rox Jobs article, Carl wrote that he was the only Suck employee with a business card without a cartoon character on it. ... and Walter writes: "They gave them [the company polo shirts] out at the company picnic last year and ran out: I was the only persen who nevor got one."
Finally, guess who has waltermiller.com registered?

Either this is truly significant, or this is another sign of Carl's nasty little habit of registering domains of non-Carl ventures:

"When Steadman learned that the New York concern 'East Village' wanted to create a Big Apple version of 'The Spot' -- the quirky, soap opera-like site based in Southern California -- he went out and registered the domain name: 'eastvillage.com.' He then offered to sell them the name..." (CyberWire Dispatch, 21 Nov 95)

A more recent display of Carl's guile is found with his "Carl's Baffling Baffler Fun-Toy", a case in which he registered the "baffler.com" domain, thus preventing the zine/journal "The Baffler" from registering it. Apparently, "they" refers to The Baffler: 
        "They could sue him,
        indie rock style. But that
        probably wouldn't work
        - Carl would just put a
        JPEG of a Rubik's Cube
        up on the site, call it
        'Carl's Baffling Baffler
        Fun-Toy - $14.99' and
        they'd be shit out of
        luck."
